Quick Shoot | Tarrytown Children's Photographer | Debbie Allan Photography |

Every time I drive by Horan's Landing with the boys I say to them "we must come back with the camera". I am drawn to the long grasses they have planted as edging throughout the gardens. This afternoon we literally had five minutes before swimming lessons. The clouds looked amazing, the sky was the most gorgeous shade of blue. I wished we could have stayed longer.

Cameron was really in the mood for posing for me - even more so than usual! He was having a blast leaping and running around. I managed to get a few air shots of him. The only thing missing was his skateboard!

Campbell was feeling a little tired after a hard day at school, but now he wants to go back to try some jumps!

Maybe tomorrow.......

........ we did end up going back and here are some of my favs from part two of Horan's Landing.

Sleepy Hollow Family Shoot | Westchester Childrens Photographer | Debbie Allan Photography

This morning, I was once again relieved that it had stopped raining, after a continual downpour yesterday afternoon.

I headed to Sleepy Hollow to capture holiday photos for a wonderful family of five.

There are some great shots that are going to make for a wonderful Holiday card.

Kids Unplugged | Tarrytown Photographer | Debbie Allan Photography |

This Veteran's Day we drove up to Westmorelands Sanctuary, Bedford Corners for an early Wacky Wednesday hike.

It was a treat for the boys and I as Craig was off work and able to join us. Gina and I were both amazing by the size of the group - what a fantastic turnout. I think the final count was 19 families, with lots of energetic children. Maybe the biggest group to date for Kids Unplugged.

We hike the Easy Loop and stopped off at the pond. The Sanctuary kindly leave fishing nets out by the shelter for children to use. This generated a huge amount of excitement, especially when a crayfish was caught. Followed by snails, fish and tadpoles.

Sesame Street Filming | Tarrytown Photographer | Debbie Allan Photography

Much to our disappointment this morning the segment filmed at Stone Barns in July, featuring Cameron did not air today.

Thought I would post some images I took that day instead!

We have now been informed by Stone Barns that the segment will air on Friday 20th November instead. (7am on PBS for those in our viewing area).

Fun Family Holiday Shoots | Tarrytown Child Photographer | Debbie Allan Photography

I was so happy that it was a beautiful, DRY, sunny Fall day today, especially as I had two shoots booked.

I started the day at Glenville Woods with a wonderful local family. It was so enjoyable for me to observe how nurturing big brother R was with his younger brother. So sweet.

This has to be one of my favorites of the morning, although there are many great ones.

I love these individual ones too.

Thanks for a great start to the day.

After a short break (to upload the images) I headed over to meet up with Vercesi Family at their home. They love their yard and so opted to have their shoot there, leaves and all.

I love spending time with the girls (maybe because I do not have any of my own!). They each have different personalities and I hope I captured their uniqueness in this shoot.

I feel bad that I did not hang around to help with the raking!

Baby Annie 3 months | Glen Rock NJ Baby Photographer | Debbie Allan Photography

This week I had the good fortune to meet up with Baby Annie and her mommy/mummy (she is English). I had photographed Annie when she was just 6 days old and I could not believe how different she looked in just three short months.

She was a dream baby throughout the whole session. She wore the most adorable outfit that her amazing mommy had made for her!! Very immpressive, especially as Annie is baby number four! I would love some of her time management skills.

I am already looking forward to our next session together.

Thank you for a wonderful morning.

Family Holiday Shoot | Tarrytown Childrens Photographer | Debbie Allan Photography

I had the pleasure of photographing my favorite sisters today, Caroline and Grace. I had so much fun with them back in the summer and so was very much looking forward to our session today. This time having a chance to get some wonderful family shots for their holiday card image. As always the girls looked adorable and behaved so well. Thank you so much, I had fun.

I think it may be a difficult decision for mom and dad to choose ONE image for their card as there are so many good ones. Here are just a few of my favs.

Tarrytown YMCA Masquerade Ball

Last night I had the pleasure of photographing the 1st Annual Halloween Masquerade Ball at The Castle on the Hudson , along with Deborah Martin and Jessica Watford.

This was a benefit event for the Strong Kids Campaign at the Family YMCA in Tarrytown honoring Sleepy Hollow resident Aubrey Hawes who has made countless gifts of time and treasure to the entire community.

An army of volunteers and committee members planned and worked together to make this fantastic event possible.

The decorations design team of volunteers created the most AMAZING center pieces and room decorations. Here is just one example of their work.

Guests were greeted at the entrance to the Castle by none other than the Headless Horseman and his trusted steed.

Tarrytown Halloween Parade

Holiday Photo Time!

Been busy with family portraits. Makes me realize I need to be doing the same thing!! I am going to need to get on the other side of the camera sometime soon.

I had a lot of fun with each of the families I shot this past week. I really love getting to know the children a little better through chatting during their sessions.

Little Charlie wins the prize for the best behaved model!

I was thrilled yesterday when I woke up to discover it was NOT raining. It was a perfect Fall day. We headed to Stone Barns for the final shoot of the week. As I have said before in my Blog, I never tire of taking photographs there. What a picture perfect place. The blue sky and Fall color was a bonus! What a fun morning.

Thank you to the families I spent time with this week.
